Urge Your Legislator to Invest in the Downeaster
Right now time is running out for the Downeaster train service. Federal funding to operate the Downeaster ends in 2008.
The state of Maine should invest in long-term funding in the Downeaster train as part of our overall state transportation network to cut air pollution and global warming emissions. That’s why Environment Maine is urging the Legislature to support making a state commitment to fund the operation of the Downeaster this year and to eventually expand its service north to Brunswick and Lewiston-Auburn.
